We have lost one of our own. Such sad news.
A beautiful girl capable of creating colourful crochet art, Wink tragically found herself in the darkest of places. Wink’s blog (www.acreativebeing.com) is one I popped by for crochet inspiration or simply to brighten the day.
The post written by her sister is poignant and sums up the situation with bravery and warmth for her older sister:

Goodbye, Wink. You will be missed.
So sad to read your post and have been and paid my respects. I only discovered Wink last year but have been a regular visitor to her inspirational blog.
Yes, I also only discovered her relatively recently but her blog and her spirit left a big impression. Thank you for taking time to leave a comment. It feels like we are all one big family at times like this. Hug ❤
Just wanted to let you know about #MandalasForMarinke, in case you hadn’t seen it yet. It’s a collaborative crochet art project in Wink’s honor designed to raise awareness about depression, celebrate her creative designs and provide a crafty outlet for the feelings we are all having at this time. Your post about her is lovely. HUGS. ❤
That sounds a lovely idea to honour Wink’s memory and to raise awareness. I would love to join! If you have any more info, please let me know (I am not on Twitter) and I’ll try looking this up too.
Thank you for your kind words and for letting me know about this new initiative. Big hugs back and keep in touch. ❤

Further to yesterday’s sad post of the loss of Wink (AKA Marinke),, there have been some thoughtful and kind initiatives within our crafting community to honour her memory and to bring awareness about depression through the creative medium she so loved.

Having read this I thought it was really informative. I appreciate you spending some time

But so what, it was still worth it!
